  • sometimes it rains!

I love how every media story about the Twins and the new ballpark includes some form of "even though it sucks, it's still good! this is how baseball is SUPPOSED to be!"

    from twinsbaseball.com:
As the rain began to pour down on Tuesday, many fans headed to the covered concourses seeking shelter. But there were also many who donned parkas and rain gear and continued to sit out in the elements to enjoy a part of baseball that had been missing in Minnesota for the past 28 years under the Metrodome's Teflon roof.

yeah. we get it. it's OUTDOOR BASEBALL. move on, please!

  • address labels

i get a lot of return address labels (and sometimes other things!) from charitable organizations...some of whom i've donated to, some i have not.

National Foundation for Cancer Research (flowers, pink ribbons)
    Habitat for Humanity (super patriotic)
American Heart Association (5 greeting cards and envelopes)
Arthritis Foundation (flowers, some with my initial)
    Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Ziggy!)
Memorial Sloan-Ketterin' Cancer Center (lighthouse and beach-themed labels, and a "certificate of appreciation"! even though i never gave them anything. i think this might have included some small note pads too)
    AHA (heart/red labels and stickers)
My insurance agency (christmas/winter themed; not a charitable organization obviously, although it feels like i'm giving them a lot of money for no reason sometimes)
    AHA (More holiday labels)
    LLS (more ziggy)
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer (pink/artsy)
March of Dimes (seasonal mailboxes...this one's from the 2007 annual fund! I must have gotten these soon after I moved in!

I have some nature stickers (seals) that have no name...maybe from Easter Seals or March of Dimes. and a sheet of pink and blue labels and stickers that say "the enclosed labels are a gift to you, and I'm sorry I am unable to fulfill additional requests." huh? who did i get these from??

If you would like to become my penpal, send me an email and I will send you your very own set of Michelle Walter address labels! and send me some of yours. unless you were at my birthday celebration, then you already have some. i have received no postcards! come on people!

    Update: May 26

    Yesterday i got two more:
    Breast Cancer Research
Diabetes foundation (not only labels, but a shopping list notepad!)

  • my horoscope for today

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (March 27). Your habits determine your success. You'll adopt more of the good and get rid of the bad. In April, you'll refresh your image and be accepted into an important group. You take a professional leap in June. July's excitement involves physical strength. October is sweetly romantic. A windfall comes in December. Pisces and Scorpio people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 25, 49, 11 and 30.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). That thing you didn't think you were good enough to do professionally? Well, you could get a paying job doing just that next week. Put the word out that you're looking for an opportunity. You're better than you know.

  • ANTM Cycle 14

Most of these girls remind me of someone else...
    Naduah: Sinead O'Connor
Angelea: hot tranny mess; "Bitch, please!" start a blog if you want to find someone who cares what you have to say.
Brenda: Daryl Hannah (in Bladerunner specifically)
    Alexandra: Lindsey Vonn
Raina (from minnetonka, aka The Eyebrows): Denise Richards
Ren: Karen O (of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs)
Simone: someone from a previous cycle
    Gabrielle: Bernadette Peters
Anslee: stana katic from Castle, kind of (just the jawline)
tatianna: she does nothing for me.

what's up with the aerobics photoshoot?

btw, i LOVE tyra's hair at the beginning of the show. it's sleek, not crazy-big. and now that we're back to "long-legged beauties," Tyra's looking thin again. so much for embracing real women!

  • watching maddie hide a bone

Maddie has these Dingo bones with some meaty flavoring in them. mom actually gave them to me because Ginger (their dog on the farm) didn't like them. Maddie LOVED some similar Dingos, but these make her act strange. Instead of instantly gnawing down, she has to find a place to hide them. And she makes this squeaky whine while she's looking. she came up to me with it in her mouth and whined. i'm not sure what I'M supposed to do to solve this problem. sometimes i have to take it away from her just so she'll go for a walk. in the past i've found them hidden under blanket or behind throw pillows. it is the most bizarre thing.
